Heya! Check out an excerpt of one of my newest writings! It is more of a dialogue/playwrite. It involves a young teenager named Helena and when she meets her boyfriend, Danny.
Danny: (Watches Helena climb onto roof from his bedroom window) Hey.
Helena: (Screams) Oh my Lord! What are you doing?
Danny: (Nonchalantly) Watching you. I never caught your name.
Helena: (Catching breathe, leaning on side of window.) Helena. Don't scare me like that.
Danny: I'm Danny. Why are you on your roof?
Helena: (Climbing up again) I was planning on playing guitar.
Danny: Don't you think that might irritate the neighbors?
Helena: This is Tennessee man. If a guitar bothers you, you belong in Alaska.
Danny: Yes ma'am.
Helena: So how long have you been watching me? (Grabbing guitar from below balcony)
Danny: Since Tuesday.
Helena: Thank goodness for curtains.
Danny: I like to listen to you sing. You are like a little artsy maniac.
Helena: Thank you. (Strums guitar)
Danny: May I join you?
Helena: (Lights candle) Don't plan on going through the door, it's after ten.
Danny: So I'll jump. (Leaps across the small space between the homes)
Helena: (Breathing heavily) Ah! You about gave me a heart attack.
Danny: I am still utterly puzzled by the fact no one has dubbed you their girlfriend.
Helena: (Gasps) What do you mean?
Danny: You are the perfect little Helena. Talented, pretty, scared easily.
Helena: (Giggles) Oh stop it! Besides, I think I already found someone who I like.
Danny: (Disappointed) Oh. Who's that?
Helena: You. (Giggles)
Danny: (Wraps arm around Helena) Good enough for me. Lets play some guitar.
